Holding pocket nines, Hudak raised pre-flop to $48,000, but Moncada, with J-5 suited, called and hit a tremendous flop of J-8-5. Moncada bet $50,000, Hudak raised to $246,000, and Moncada went all in for $178,000 more. Hudak called, emerged with a straight draw and a diamond draw after the queen of diamonds hit on the turn, buy couldnt complete the bad beat, as a harmless four fell on the river. Other noteworthy finishers were: Mike Sexton in 10th place; Phil Gordon in 27th place; and T.J. Cloutier in 44th place.
