2005 WSOP Event #24June 28, 2005 No-Limit Hold 'em Buy-in: $2,500 Number of Entries: 1,056 Total Prize Money: $2,428,800 Final Table Results: 1st - Farzad ‘Freddy’ Bonyadi 2nd – Lars Bonding 3rd – Glynn Beebe 4th – Robert Doyle 5th – Mayen Grigorian 6th – Joe Zappia 7th – Jason Tate 8th – K.J. Jordan 9th – Larry Watson Memorable hand: “Freddy” Bonyadi may have captured this third bracelet and joined the WSOP millionaires’ club, but he played no role whatsoever in the most interesting hand of the event. With five players remaining, Mayan Grigorian, playing with an extremely short stack, raised all in from the small blind with a lowly 10c-2c, hoping to steal the blinds, but got called by an even worse staring hand from Bonding, 7d-5h. Grigorian held a small lead after the Ad-Qd-8h flop, and he was still ahead and looking to double up when the turn brought the 8d. But when the Kd fell on the river, it gave Bonding a diamond flush, sending Grigorian packing. Other noteworthy finishers were: Ram Vaswani in 17th; Huck Seed in 25th; John Juanda in 26th, and Yevgeny Kafelnikov in 76th. ![]() DISCLAIMER: Drawdead.com links to sites that may contain gambling
