2005 WSOP Event #32July 3, 2005 Omaha Hi-Low Split Buy-in: $5,000 Number of Entries: 224 Total Prize Money: $1,052,800 Final Table Results : 1st – David Chiu 2nd – Russ ‘The Muscle’ Salzer 3rd – Haim Kakoun 4th – Danny Horowitz 5th – Stephen Ladowsky 6th – Hiroshi Shimamura 7th – Allen Cunningham 8th – Bueno Patrick 9th – Daniel Shak Memorable hand: For the first time ever, the Omaha High-Low Split event’s prize pool exceeded $1-million, and Chiu, now a four-time bracelet winner, was the lucky beneficiary. After dominating nearly every hand of his 40-minute heads-up duel with Salzer, Chiu ended matters by getting Salzer to go all in against his nut flush. Chiu had Ac-Kc-5c-3h, giving him better high and low cards against Salzer’s Ah-Qh-6c-5h. The flop fell Qd-Jc-9s, Chiu bet, and Salzer called. The turn was the 4c, Chiu bet again, and Salzer called again. The river was the 7c, completing Chiu’s flush and the Chinese veteran bet enough to put Salzer all in. Salzer called, and that was that. Other noteworthy finishers were Ted Lawson in 11th place and Marcel Luske in 17th place. ![]() DISCLAIMER: Drawdead.com links to sites that may contain gambling
