Seriously short-stacked, Gerasimov decided to take a stand early in heads-up play with rolled up fives, and ‘Bax’ Josephy called him with a pair of fours, an ace and a king. Another ace came Josephy’s way on sixth street, and the Russian didn’t catch the five he needed to pull out the win.
