2009 WSOP Event 22 Results
In what was one of the shortest heads up battles at a final table of the 2009 WSOP, Jeffrey Carris took out opponent Jason Somerville in about 25 minutes of action, making Carris the winner of the $1,500 No Limit Hold’em Shootout. Carris picked up his first WSOP bracelet and $313,673.
The field started with 1000 players and each table would play down to a single player, as happens in a shootout event. Those 100 players left standing would return for Day 2 action already in the money. Day 2 would see the remaining 10 tables be played out with only 1 player advancing from every table setting the final table for Day 3.
Action at the final table started with each player having the same amount of chips. And it seemed that one of the final 9 was missing for a bit. Michael McNeil, the 8th place finisher was absent for the start of the match.
Congratulations to all the money finishers of this event and especially to Jeffrey Carris for a job well done!
