2009 WSOP Event 24 Results

More than 2,500 players bought in to the $1,500 No Limit Hold’em Event #24 of the 2009 WSOP making the prize pool almost $3.5Million and first prize over $600K.

It took only 11 hours to get the remaining players in the money, which was good considering those players would be faced with a grueling long Day 2. Rule #96 of the WSOP seems to be coming into play often this year. That rule states that play cannot go beyond 3am. Day 3 would start with just 19 players and just before midnight the last hand would be dealt.

The winner of that final hand and winner of a gold bracelet and $607,256 was Panayote ‘Pete’ Vilandos. Heads up action lasted all of about 10 minutes as Andy Seth was eliminated in 2nd place.
