2009 WSOP Event 34 Results
Congratulations to Eric Baldwin on Beaver Dam, Wisconsin for being the last man standing at Event #34, $1,500 No Limit Hold’em, of the 2009 WSOP. Baldwin outlasted some 2,094 other players to win $521,932 and his first gold bracelet.
On the third day of the event, there were just 20 entrants remaining and it appeared that chip leader, at the time, Bertrand ‘ElkY’ Grosspelier would emerge as the winner. But just a few hands later, ElkY lost his lead. When the action reached just 3 remaining players, the chip stacks were almost even. Once 3rd place finisher James Taylor was out of the way, it didn’t take long for Baldwin to surge ahead with an 8:1 chip count. Just a few hands later it was his pocket tens that would hold up and Baldwin would take down the final player.
