2009 WSOP Event 35 Results
The 35th event of the 2009 World Series of Poker saw just 363 players vie for the top prize in the $5,000 Pot Limit Omaha event. But it was Richard Austin who came out on top of the field and wins $409,484 and his first gold bracelet. Towards the end, as play was down to the last three entrants, it was the last hand of the event that would confuse some people, including a media member who had stepped away from the table and came back after the last hand had been dealt. In the last hand of the event Austin was on the button and made the call, while Sorel Mizzi completed from the small blind and Cliff Josephy then raised to $150,000. Austin would make the call and the action continued. After the flop, all three players were all in. It was Austin who would get a King high flush on the river, taking down both remaining players.
