It seems to be inevitable that the final day of the World Championship $10,000 Seven Card Stud event of the 2009 World Series of Poker would last til almost 3am. Both Day 1 and Day 2 of the event hit the 3am mark also, on the 2nd day of the tournament, officials invoked rule 96 in which no play goes past 3am. Those long days took their toll on players and in the end it was Freddie Ellis, a well know stud player in NYC and Atlantic City, who took down the final pot and takes home the bracelet and $373,744. Runner up Eric Drache received $231,014 for his efforts. Some notable names that finished in the money were Daniel Negreanu, Jeff Lisandro, Hasan Habib, and Max Pescatori.
