Jamie Gold Poker Profile
Jamie Gold was born on August 25, 1969 in New York City. He was raised in New Jersey and earned a bachelors degree for the State University of New York in Albany in 1991. Gold has spent the majority of his life in the entertainment business. Starting at age 16, he became an intern for J.Micheal Bloom & Associates Talent Agency.
After that he became a talent agent but soon moved into management and production. Rumor has it that Gold has represented such to stars as James Gandolfini, of Sopranos fame, Donnie Wahlberg, Jimmy Fallon, Lucy Liu and Felicity Huffman to name a few. Jamie currently holds the position of President of production at Buzznation.
Gold learn at a young age to play poker, from his mother and his grandfather, who was a champion gin rummy player. A couple years ago, he began work on a television show with some former WSOP Main Event winners, Johnny Chan and Chris Moneymaker. At that point Chan began to mentor Gold in poker.
It was only in 2005 that Gold began playing poker tournaments regularly. And in April of 2005 he won his first No Limit Holdem Tournament. In the year that followed, Gold had seven more finishes "in the money" in California tournaments. The 2006 World Series of Poker was the first big tournament Gold had cashed in.
