Tom McEvoy Poker Profile

Tom McEvoy was born on November 14, 1944 in Grand Rapids, Michigan. Tom learned to play poker when he was just five years old and played regularly in grade school, which always landed him in trouble.
Tom has the unique distinction of having played against every WSOP Main Event winner in the history of the event.
McEvoy is strongly opposed to smoking and organized, in 1998, the first tournament where smoking was not allowed. There was much reluctance, but the tournament still attracted a large number of players, and therefore confirmed the viability of having non-smoking tournaments. In 2002 he convinced Benny Binion Behnen to make the WSOP a non-smoking tournament by agreeing to give Behnen poker lessons.
